Tip 1: Glass Shower Enclosures

If your small bathroom includes a shower, invest in a glass shower enclosure. In this 6’x6’ bathroom we were able to fit a standard size shower, yet it takes up minimal visual space since you are able to look right through it. The glass enclosure also makes the shower feel bigger as it gives the illusion on having no walls.

Tip 2: Compact Vanities That Offer Style and Function

In this space, a low profile vanity was key for the traffic flow. We found a stylish faucet to dress up this compact IKEA vanity which maximizes storage while allowing for plenty of room to walk around it.

Tip 3: Add Extra Storage and Style with a Wall Niche

Wall niches are one of the best ways to add style and function to small bathrooms. This niche was cleverly fit in-between two studs. Because of its mirrored backing, it also reflects light and makes the bathroom feel larger than it really is.

Tip 4: Smart Storage

An over toilet storage cabinet is a smart idea for any bathroom but particularly in this 6’ x 6’ space. Medicine cabinets, like the one here, are also a great way to fit in more storage without taking up any additional space. This niche offers a great display area that can be changed with the seasons and is a handy spot for special soaps, lotions and other specialty items.

Tip 5: Continuous Tile Surface

We used white subway tile to create the shower lip but then picked up the same floor tile in the shower floor which helps make that shower wall disappear and makes the space feel more expansive.
