Winter to Spring Bedroom Update

This Spring Look

Here are some quick tips for a room that feels well put together as well as product links so that you can recreate this look yourself.

First: mix patterns. I typically use one large scale pattern, one small scale pattern and one solid or very tight pattern that reads as a solid. In the bedding for example, my solid is the ochre accent pillow. The large scale pattern is the floral coverlet, and pillow shams. The small scale pattern is the pineapple sheets.

Second: integrate colors. Find one base color that grounds your overall color palette: In this case, my base color is the dark teal, Weekend, and my accent color is the ochre. In this bedding selection, the ochre accent is present in all three patterns which helps integrate the overall look. You’ll notice that in ‘ochre’ in the large scale floral pattern is really more of an olive but in this case, it’s close enough to work.

Third: tie it all together. The key to making a room feel ‘put together’ is tying in a variety of coordinating colors. In this room, the paint color is picked up in the bedding, curtains, and pendants. The ochre is repeated in the bedding and curtain fringe.
